When the best leader’s work is done the people say, “We did it ourselves.”
We are given leadership opportunities daily. The problem is that many people miss those because they are looking to be seen as a leader. The greatest leaders are those that have a vision, for themselves, for their team, for their customers. True leaders try to make every action guiding people toward that vision, whether anyone is there to recognize or not.
Is what you are doing leading the way to your vision? Would you do that when no one is looking?
Why are people not reading my blog?
Almost everyone that writes a blog asks me why no one is reading their blog. The truth is, if you are writing the blog to be famous, most likely you are not a leader. With so many options on the web, why would someone follow someone that is not truly a leader? Leaders don’t look for recognition, they look to move others to a better place.
“Nothing is softer or more flexible than water, yet nothing can resist it”Lao Tzu
A little more esoteric then the usual quote, but also carrying more meaning. In our modern day rush for “more” and “now” we tend to try and push through obstacles with all of our force. When it comes to entrepreneurship and sales, the same thing. We want it all now and the only thing that is ever shown to us is the end result.
Greatness and happiness, especially in today’s world of immense opportunity, comes with persistence and flexibility. This means you might not accomplish what you want today but instead of sprinting and stopping, work continuously at a pace.
I try to think of my days a calm continuous pace. (It does not always work) I might run into obstacles but instead of using my entire might to push through them , I move around know eventually they will wear down. Hard work does not mean always running in the red, huffing and puffing. The hard work that leads to success is getting up everyday, working continuously toward a goal and be willing to work around the obstacles until they are gone.
“If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading.”
