“Hard work is a prison sentence only if it does not have meaning.”
— Malcolm Gladwell
Why are you doing what you are doing? That is what we lose sight of when we do our work, and then it becomes work. Money does not provide fulfillment, so then the hard work leads to doubt, stress and anxiety.
Remember your vision and why you are doing what you are doing. Think about it every day. Don’t have it written down? Do it now. Include the purpose for that vision. Now, everyday, when you are mired in the tedium or the conflict, look to that.
The greatest companies have come from a solid but simple vision.
Google’s Vision: Index the entire world’s information.
Bill Gate’s Vision: A computer on every desk in home and office.
Vision instills meaning into hard work which in turn makes the days fly by, in a good way.
