“How much time he saves who does not look to see what his neighbor says or does or thinks.” Marcus Aurelius
The problem with so much information is that we are bombarded with stories of absolute horror and absolute success. A 26 year old man rockets to the top of the Fortune 500 wealthiest. A 25 year old mother kills her daughter and celebrates her new found freedom. We will never completely understand the sequence of events that lead to these outliers. Most likely, you should not waste your time trying.
I can’t stand the constant talk of these because they detract from our success, however you define it.
The extraordinary successes give us goals that will often take forever to reach and make us feel bad about ourselves.
The extraordinary horrors make us think less of the good people that surround us and see less in the beauty of strangers everyday.
If what someone else is doing does not effect you, move on. If you are doing your best and someone criticizes you, move on.’
Do your best for you, your loved ones and the betterment of the world.
Absolutely don’t waste time thinking about how good or bad the person next to you is, unless you are going to learn from their path.
Not only doe sit waste your current time, it effects even your “productive” time.
